On the days when I find mushrooms on the trees – I may spend there hours. It is obviously a time to get know more about it!
Providing for my reader a short excursion to the forest, talking about co-living of trees and mushrooms.
Variety of mushrooms find their living place on cut trees, but also on trunks of living trees. It appeared that some mushrooms prefer one type of trees, while others – another. For example, some mushrooms could be specific for birch tree, while others – for pine trees. But others may choose any place without specific preferences.
Some mushrooms look fabulous! I would say, the patterns of Nature and how she plays with the colors of life are unpredictable and surprising. Lots of modern artists try to play the same way, making their paintings by mixing all together in the intuitive way. Maybe, that is a call from Nature?…
I may be wrong in classification, because this is the first day I really started to be interested about mushroom names. Comments and corrections are very welcome!
Trametes versicolor is commonly called turkey tail because its shape and multiple colors are similar to those of a wild turkey!
