Why did I start flipping through the books in the evenings?
Along with the progress and comfort of XXI century, a new era brings us virtual technologies. Human’s brain is overloaded with the digital world and the amount of information it brings.
These days virtual technologies like internet, computer, TW, audiobooks, blogs, podcasts, e-books, endless apps (for sport, food, weight control, yoga, parking, ordering goods, etc), notification of received messages have flooded the daily life of a human being. The amount of information going through the brain has never been bigger. In fact, the human brain is not adapted to receive the information flows at such extent.
The human brain is not adapted to receive the information flows at such extent
Why one could state the brain is not adapted to the informational flows of XXI century? The answer is more than diverse. Nowadays lots of pathological conditions are treated as a norm, as a part of normal life. In fact those are far too abnormal and harmful. Let’s take a look to the admissible abnormalities: headaches, migraines, dizziness, difficulties to fall asleep, insomnia, nightmare, irritability, reflux, anxiety, depression, hidden depression, apathy, agitation, emotional sensitivity, worrying, stresses, indigestion, the mind overloaded with thoughts and thoughts about actions, low self-esteem, low motivation, in fact if to describe shortly – chronic self-destruction.
Admissible abnormalities: headaches, migraines, dizziness, difficulties to fall asleep, insomnia, nightmare, irritability, reflux, anxiety, depression, hidden depression, apathy, agitation, emotional sensitivity, worrying, stresses, indigestion, etc.
No one could prove that any of the informational tool of XXI century causes cancer or madness, because it is simply not true.
The true is that the variety and THE AMOUNT of the information from numerous sources that WE PUT inside and let it path through us could reach the poisonous doses.
I have already made attempts to reduce the time spent on internet, and you may find some of my posts dedicated to the topic: Prophylactic self-isolation for MIND at HOME purification. Day 30th and Impressive photography as a “junk food” for the brain / Prophylactic self-isolation series / Day 247th. However, the things go back with a new stronger wave and get worth. Denying of something only lights a bonfire and make it worth.
Why to avoid easy ways
You see, it got “normal” to look for easy ways in anything: how to do something in a few steps or how to achieve something in a few days, or how to deal with something easily, etc.
How to know more – it is easy! – watch it on internet!
So when the process of getting knowledge of any kind is available straight away just by keeping eyes open and listening – then the hidden process takes its start. A human brain is a very complex mechanism, requiring a complex kind of mental work to be done. When we put in a brain information in its “easy” form – the brain knows – it was easy and asks for more to reach its levels of productivity.
A human brain is a very complex mechanism, requiring a complex kind of mental work to be done. Easy ways lead it to degradation, addiction and laziness
More so, scrolling down the pages on internet causes additional dose of information to go in. This is a kind of hidden process, a hidden trick for a brain.
Have you noticed the tendency – people cannot get focused on any kind of a long reading?
It just annoys to read! This is because WATCHING is an “easy” way and has become a kind of addiction. It is much easier TO WATCH a good clip on “how to make yoga pose correctly”, than in fact TO DO IT. Lots of people limit themselves just for watching the life on a screen!: “Aha, this recipe looks tasty, I will make it one day, aha…this kind of morning routine is quite good, I will try it next Monday…
We have come to an abuse point where “making it simply easy” has become “Now I am lazy just to do anything”
Why WATCHING the information could be harmful?
We already agreed, watching is an easy way to receive any sort of information. By getting it easy – then we receive too much of it. Especially “watching the information” (TW show, movie, video clips, You Tube clips with a jumping in advertisement) before bed.
“Watching the information” allows it to reach the brain and mind on a high speed and in large amounts. Then we wonder why we wake up feeling broken or dreaming bad dreams. It is a consequence of “undigested” brain food – undigested informational stream.
The same as for a physical world – after heavy eating at night in the morning one feels stomach cramps and already tired! By the way, it is a widely known mistake to accept STOMACH CRAMPS (which are caused by undigested food) as HUNGER.
“Watching the information” allows it to reach the brain and mind on a high speed and in large amounts
Why READING?
Why reading the information is a good way to go? Or how to subordinate Blue Chakra to a flow of received information?
While reading, one turns on his/her own imagination to recreate the picture of the described event, a story, or even a food recipe.
For example, by reading the same story, ten movie directors would produce ten different movies. Or let’s take another, real example: a biblical story about Judith and Holofernes provoked different painters to create absolutely different paintings but with the same main idea. Some of the paintings may be found by following the external link: https://www.dailyartmagazine.com/best-judith-head-holofernes-paintings/.
You see, reading the information calls the brain to imagine, to create the pictures in mind – in fact, to create. It is a kind of personal filter – where Blue Chakra is involved – to receive just a dose of information, adapted by the own imagination. Even if you are not a painter or music compositor – the bliss of creation is still available for mostly all of us – just let yourself TO READ.

Hundreds years ago, when literacy was a privilege of a few, the stories were told by one man, surrounded by a crowd. And that would be one story a day, narrated with pauses and respective intonation.
Reading lets the mind slow down, because reading is a way more moderate practice to receive an information. You may call it a kind of jaws, letting the information “to be chewed before swallowing”.
Conclusion
Human’s brain is not adapted to huge informational flows that is why it may be related to a “normal state” of abnormalities: anxiety, depression, insomnias, headaches, anxiety, in other words, chronic self-destruction.
WATCHING the information allows too much of it to reach the brain, the mind and later to disrupt it.
READING the information may allow to “chew” and “digest” the information, it subordinates imagination letting one to become a small creator of his/her own life.
No one says to refuse virtual technologies 100%, but to dose it as properly as physical food amount would be a great idea! To introduce a kind of a “diet for information to receive” would be a great idea!
So, instead of a morning headache, I choose to read, or just to flip through the books in the evenings:)
P.S. Thanks to a friend of mine, with whom we were just talking but suddenly came to the conclusion that reading is a slow good food for the brain and peaceful mind:)
