I discovered Izmir a year ago as one of the most beautiful places on earth, worth to visit.
Open hearted people, comfortable weather (around 30 degrees Celsius in October!), fresh delicious food (a paradise for fruit lovers:)), museums, galleries, parks, fountains, Aegean sea along the city from one side and the mountains from another.
In three weeks I was speaking Turkish and able to make a simple (but essential) conversation. But it only could happen when you are open for new experience and communicate…
Lets take a look at the city through the eye of my camera!

I found a charm in wearing long skirts there. Turkey is a well-known because of its quality textile manufacture, so, the people play around with different fabrics to make the clothes a part of a culture.
It is ok to wear shorts in Izmir. But shorts seem like “not being enough rich even for clothes”:) People like to dress there.

Kültürpark İzmir
Address: Mimar Sinan, Şair Eşref Blv. No.50, 35220 Konak/İzmir, Turkey

One could reach different parts of the city by public transport – ferry

People enjoy the beauty of green parks

Ispanaklı Börek
Pastry with spinach…a year ago I was eating flour-based things there. How else one could feel the culture if not through the traditional food?:)

But I always had a choice – fresh veggies and fruits are the essence of Izmir too

Atatürk monument
Address: Bostanlı, Hasan Ali Yücel Blv., 35590 Karşıyaka/İzmir, Turkey
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (1881-1938) is the founding father of the Republic of Turkey
There was also a huge market in Bostanlı each Thursday, so I was there three times:)

Love to Nature’s creatures
I have never seen any other place in the world where people carry so much about street animals, cats and dogs.
As I get known, street cats and dogs are checked by a veterinarian, while dogs have their numbers marked in an earing.
People feed the animals and take care of them as if they were family members.

Asansör
A historical building, an elevator and a view point in Izmir.

Photo: the view from the top of the elevator Asansör.

Cumhuriyet Meydanı
One of the main urban squares of Izmir.

In fact not possible to post here all the photos, you know:)
Thank you for a short journey together to look around in Izmir:)
