When I was young
When I was young (funny to say that, I am still young:)), anyway, in the days of my youth that was a characteristic musical pieces of the time – Prodigy. The electronic dance music was calling for rhythmic beat and raised unknown form of energy, I would say. However, the video clips were scary for me and I always avoided to watch them and truly knew for myself – it is not for me. I was mostly a fan of glam metal.

Drawing in two point perspective
However what was my surprise when I heard Prodigy years later, this year, beating rhythm in someone’s apartment aside while I was trying to concentrate on the drawing in two point perspective.
My sketches in October 2020

Suddenly, the barrier of unknown disappeared, the mind became clear and as with a help of miracle hand I drew the sketches one by one as I was doing it for years. The whole concept of “How to draw in two point perspective” has opened for me in a moment. How come? Should I thank to Prodigy? I feel that I should.

Loud music for good
In the days of my youth, those who were adults “suffered” a lot because of a loud music. All the young people around were about listening music loudly. That was the basis for everlasting conflict between two generations.
These days’ young people have adapted at the expenses of their own health and safety and put on headphones. Health – because of a constant noise and vibration right close to eardrums. And safety – because with a good headphones on a street one could hardly concentrate on things going around – signaling cars, bicycles or other forms of warnings do not exist for such a headphone-individual any more.

But years ago the picture was quite different. I found the method for myself to do homework and to learn the most difficult subjects as mathematics and chemistry by listening glam metal on a highest volume possible while catching the hours being at home alone.
Yes, dear adult neighbors, when you were annoyed by the loud music spreading beyond the walls – I was studying, it was my “learning loud” style to get the best scores at school!!!

Coming back to Prodigy
Coming back to Prodigy and two point perspective last week, someone probably discovered his musical equipment after years and put it on sound – that was a splash! Probably the habit of “learning loud” awakened after years and made its work.

As a tribute to Prodigy, this week I watched several video clips of the band from the beginning to an end.
These days, the UK number one single “Breathe” gains its new meaning

I went further and read about the wild on-stage persona – the leader of the band, Keith Flint. I read about his life and career and have discovered he is not with us anymore… Keith Flint (1969-2019). Toxicology reports showed cocaine, alcohol, and codeine in his blood at the time of his passing (1)…

I learned that he moved from being a dancer for the group to being its frontman and for me that is a great example of someone’s enthusiasm! I also read on Wikipedia he was a bird-watcher (twitching is a British term used to mean “the pursuit of a previously located rare bird”. It is a form of birdwatching – wildlife observation), but the interview with Keith in 2003 raises doubt for this statement (2).
