Prophylactic self-isolation for photography, creation and inspiration. Day 163rd.

Here is how I have completed the exercise from the online course on illustration techniques by the painter and illustrator Adolfo Serra:

PRACTICE EXERCISE 2.X

Run, jump, travel … fly!

Travel. Because traveling is linked to development and growth. „The exploration and going beyond the physical and mental space, are synonymous with progress. Traveling also means renouncing your beliefs, accepting other ways of seeing and understanding the world. “, – A. Serra

The task was to be a tourist in your own city or travel further to see other cultures and other ways of life.

How I completed the task:

As the hygienic situation in regards to covid is now not friendly to travel abroad, I decided to complete the task in a city where I stay now. However, this perspective seemed for me boring and I was procrastinating for a month or more. Guess what happened?, – A surprise, unexpected coincidence!

The story about how not to postpone the personal tasks that should be done:

So, I was postponing to complete the task of my illustration course for a month or more, silently thinking that the task to be a tourist in my own city is boring.

One summer day (not long ago) the sun was shining bright and the sea was calling me. So, I completed the morning routine quickly and ran to a local train – I wanted to go to the seaside. Sitting in the train and eating my strawberries, I was happy for the spontaneous decision to refresh a body in a cool salty water and enjoy the sunny day.

However, after an hour or so, it appeared that I am going the opposite direction – further away from the sea and even in the unknown for me direction!

Train controller was kind to me and did not put a fine for not having a ticket which I did not have – in my reality I was going to another destination! More so, what could you take from a silly lady, with a straw hat, big glasses and a mask on a face (just try to imagine the view:)), going to the sea in a wrong direction?, – Nothing! She is already done! 🙂

So, I found myself in the unknown place, but decided to explore it for few hours. The small town appeared to be a historical place and exciting discovery for a curious tourist! Let’s dive in it!

During my unexpected excursion, a friend of mine wrote me a message to meet for tea/coffee, and I wrote her “I mixed the trains, so instead of going to the beach, I am walking in this new city!!” She answered: “Ha ha! There are no coincidences, they say, so you have to be there for a reason”.

She answered: “Ha ha! There are no coincidences, they say, so you have to be there for a reason”

Yep, “I had to be there for a reason” – for a reason not to postpone the things that should be done in time. Here is the result!

As I prepared my backpack for a beach, there were a thermos with a tea, my-made cookies, a beach towel and bikini:) The day was hot hot, but I was walking somewhere in the middle of nowhere with all that beach stuff.

I was so excited going back from this unexpected trip, that even draw it from my photo reference:)

P.S. Now I see, I can manage to mix the trains once in 10 years.

Another story, which took place 10 years ago, will come one day on my blog! At that time, I managed to go TO ANOTHER COUNTRY by mixing the trains! However, not alone, and that makes the story even much more exciting:)

Applause! 🙂
