Few months before lock-down in our country, when COVID-19 was still somewhere abroad and not intimidating, I was in my thoughts, deep thinking about the correlation between mood and food. You probably know that when we feel well and happy – we do not overeat.
How we measure extra portion of sweet delights
It is definitely possible to find a way to measure extra portion of sweet delights by calculating the calories, but…how to measure, control and provoke (when in lack) a dose of happiness and well-feeling? Good question, right? I found it is also measurable – and also in calories, but this time in emotional calories, I call it emo-C, emotional calories.
How to “eat” emotional calories for well-feeling?
According to my Emo-C theory, basic amount of “emotional” calories should be consumed daily to ensure emotional stability and overall well-feeling. It is like a game, but with no loss and no negative scores.
Specific activities contribute to the intake of “emotional” calories, and each specific activity has its score from 5 to 25. Score value depends on a difficulty, time spent and accessibility of the specific activity.
For example, I get 5 scores for the activity “mirror smile”, but I get 25 scores for the activity “Nature walking for 1 hour”. Subsequently, 2 hours of Nature walking would contribute to 50 scores. The goal is to obtain “basic amount of emotional calories” per day, which should contribute positively to emotional stability and mental health.

Nature observation is boring!
-It is just Nature, green or blue, what should I look for there? I am busy!
-Any Nature image is just an image. We get used to observe Nature from the screens, the images are professional and look cool there. However, what about real connection?
I have experienced all the beauty and energy of those shots which are presented here below. What about you? But sometimes I just make pictures and forget to make a real observation, looking with my eyes. The world from the screen seems to be more attractive, but it is just pixels and other electronics. Feel the difference while reveling in Nature breath!
25 emo-C scores for the first attempt to clean Nature!
Any body (mine, yours) is all around. As bigger you are in your mind horizons, as much you take care of yourself all around, all around Nature. By cleaning and taking care of Nature, we clean ourselves, our inner and outer shells.
If you have never bent to collect plastic garbage before – make it once, with a smile, and the emotional satisfaction of making this World better right here, right now, will come and cover with well-feeling and abundance.
“It is impossible” syndrome
It is difficult to have a shower!
Yes, I know:) but it works wonders to feel great. SO, worth a try!

It is not necessary, and probably not possible, to complete all the above mentioned activities at once, during the first day. But keep going and see what happens in a week!
How to get emotional calories for well-feeling if that is so unusual and hard to achieve?
- Set an alarm for an appropriate activity to be sure that the “consumption of the emotional calories” is full and completed
- For example, if a duration of sport activity is 30 min – set an alarm for 30 min, one should concentrate all his/her attention to start doing it
- Mark your mood changes and food preferences within a day in a written form (on a piece of paper, in a notebook, or making phone notes) while practicing the Emotional diet
- Note that there are no scores with negative values
- For example, if instead of Nature observation one has chosen to snack or surf on social media – no scores are taken away
- We concentrate our mind only on positivity and growing inner stability
- All the attempts should be concentrated on the accomplishment of the “emo-C” activities
