Overture
January 2nd, 2020. The body feels tired and lazy, can’t believe these lazy-lady symptoms come back so quickly! And that is only after few days of eating vegetarian cooked dishes, some potatoes and cheese… Well, time to come back to the energetic state. After some non-productive time laying on the sofa – enthusiastic start appears to make some new recipies from a stock I already have.

This time I catch an inspiration from my virtual society on internet, and here what we have for Milk Thistle (or Sylibum in Latin) to make a tasty warming winter drink:
ingredient | eu | us |
---|---|---|
For note: 150 g of mango is approximately a half of a big mango fruit
- Milk thistle (sylibum seeds), ground, 2 Tbsp
- Cinnamon powder, 1 Tbsp
- Ginger powder, 1 Tbsp
- Fennel seeds, 0.5 tspn
- Cardamon, crushed, 0.5 tspn
- Red pepper, lightly ground, 0.25 tspn
How to make it:
- Ground and crush the seeds
- Mix all ingredients together in a dry glass jar
- Put 1 tspn of the powder mixture to 300 ml of cold water and simmer 15-20 min
- Enjoy the kissel drink!

Red pepper, lightly ground

Powdered mixture of dry ingredients
in a glass jar

Simmer the drink
I have got a present for New year 2020 from my dear friend – the modern-shape ceramic cup, and this kissel drink I tried firstly in it!

Amazing, thank you my dear friend:)
Important to know:
Well, any recipe I found, I make it in my way. Original recipe is called Milk thistle chai and contains dairy milk or vegan milk. In this version I use water instead of milk and it works.
Ironically, milk thistle by itself does not contain any milk or other dairy products.
